Since the world is world, the human being migrates. Either voluntarily to seek to improve their quality of life, or for external reasons that leave no other option.
And although migrating is in human DNA, the sense of belonging to a community, a country, a language, is what gives us our identity
With uprooting comes a cultural baggage that makes us who we are, and having a support network makes life outside of your country more bearable.
That’s why I created Away, an app to connect immigrants like myself, so they can feel a little closer to home.
With Away, you will be able to look for other immigrants near your location who can offer their help in different fields, how to fix something, explain how open an account or just to meet new people and make friends.
Having carried out two open card sorting, users found the filters confusing, so we proceeded to carry out a third one, this time closed, trying to differentiate the two archetypes. However, the result was not successful.
The problem was that the same term was used for several categories (volunteer), and the people involved in the study grouped them together because it made sense to them.
On the other hand, the “chat” category was added after card sorting, and the term search volunteer was renamed for search engine, and geolocalization for my location.
To get the full experience, we recommend interacting with the app in full screen mode, and click "r" to start the prototype from the beginning
